The Interview
What do you have planned for your Black Box headline? Any upcoming releases?
"Freestyling it. Lots of new music including some from an upcoming EP that feature my vocals. It's a very sentimental project to me that I'm excited to put out. I've been singing since I was 5 - wrote my first song with my Dad at age 6 and burned it on CDs to give out to my class. The EP is a full circle moment in a lot of ways."
What did the beginning of your project look like?
"My early production years were making house beats in GarageBand, having no idea what I was doing. It was all fun and games until I put out my first dubstep mix on Soundcloud, then I knew I needed to pick a name."
Were you always Solfire when you began your career?
"I started as Safire actually, and not a lot of thought went into the name. It was right before my first gig. Now as Solfire, I have a very clear direction of where I want the project to go."
